NZ Heritage Hockey has today announced the powerhouse coaching team for the IHC Melbourne Tournament early this October.
Two Olympian legends are taking the helm and leading their men and women in Melbourne - both with storied resume's.
Brett Leaver ( Head Coach : Women’s team )
With 157 caps for New Zealand as a player and part of the World XI in 1998, Brett has since forged an impressive record as a premier hockey coach.
The current Head of Hockey for St Kent's in Auckland, Brett recently coached back-to-back Intercity and North Harbour women's championships in 2023 and 2024.
Proudly Fijian, Brett is one of the driving forces behind Heritage Hockey.
Jude Menezes ( Head Coach : Men’s team )
With 133 caps for India and attending four Olympics - first as a player and then as a coach - Jude brings more than 10 years coaching experience at the very highest level. Jude coached as part of the Black Sticks women's program for years before leading the Japan women to the Paris Olympics in 2024. Most recently, Jude coached in the JSW Soorma women to the final in the Hockey India League. Now the Head of Hockey for the Auckland Hockey Assn., we are excited to have Jude join the Heritage team.
