      International Melbourne Hockey Cup 2023 Tier 1 winner NSW Lions with the winner's trophy

    • NSW Lions won the Title of International Melbourne Hockey Cup 2023 Adelaide Sikhs won Tier-2 Title Latrobe Valley Champions in women's category Juniors Under 14 title won by Caroline Springs Melbourne, October 2 ( ) NSW Lions won the International Melbourne Hockey Cup Tier 1 title by defeating MSU Warriors 2-1 after a tough competition. The Adelaide Sikhs won the Tier 2 division title of the tournament held at the Sports Center Parkville in Melbourne by defeating the Cragieburn Falcons. While Latrobe Valley won the women's title by defeating Cardinia Storm. In the Juniors Under 14 category, Caroline Springs won the title by defeating the Cragieburn Falcons. Prizes were awarded to the winning teams by Sohail Abbas, former captain of the Pakistan hockey team, known as the king of drag flicks in world hockey, CEO Hockey Victoria Andrew, Brad and Mohanbir Bal from tournament sponsor Ball Incorporation and colleagues. NSW Lions, the winners of Tier-1 of the tournament, were presented with the winner's trophy and a cash prize of $8000 (sponsored by Bal Incorporation). While Tier-2 winners Adelaide Sikhs were honored with the winner's trophy and $6000 in cash (sponsored by Bal Incorporation). Latrobe Valley, the winner of the women's category and Caroline Springs, the winner of the juniors under 14 category, were awarded the winner's trophy. Jashandeep Singh of Caroline Springs was declared the best player in the juniors category. Latrobe Valley's Skye McDonald was named the best player in the women's category. Taylor Spry of Adelaide Sikhs was declared the best player in Tier-2. While Paras Malhotra of Punjab Giants was declared the best player in Tier 1. NSW Lions's Aleem Bilal was Highest Scorer of the tournament. All these players were honored with hockey sticks (form Alfa Hockey a famous hockey manufacturing company of Punjab ) trophies. While the best players of Tier 1 were awarded with 1000 dollars in cash by MS Protective Services and Ausin Lawyers. On this occasion, Hockey Victoria's CEO Andrew said that this tournament has turned out to be a successful tournament and the benefits of this tournament will greatly benefit Australian hockey in the future. The logo of the 2024 tournament was also released on this occasion. Olympian Sohail Abbas was specially honored by the CEO of Hockey Victoria
